The company 'Papeteries Vérilhac Frères' was founded in Lyon, France in 1932 by Henri and Robert Vérilhac. Coming from a family who already specialised in paper, they started trading this commodity in France, then to all the countries of North Africa. Then, using their knowledge of notebooks and stationery in 1934, they started manufacturing and selling the first Rhodia-branded notepads. In 1997, Rhodia became part of the Clairefontaine group and production was relocated to Mulhouse (the Upper Rhine region of France), creating the industry-leading Clairefontaine Rhodia name.
Rhodia notepads deliver many things; Quality and irreproachable finishes with real paper expertise. A combination of inventiveness and innovations (with water-resistant, foldover covers, "Sangrif" technology and micro-perforated tear-off sheets). A desire for new design whilst reliably orange & black. Dynamic, yet elegant. It is these componants which create the very essence of the Rhodia notepad, a traditional yet contemporary object since 1934.
For over 80 years, the Rhodia logo has been the icon of our brand. Recognisable among all, our stapled orange pad embodies the quintessential notepad, combined with French know-how and Clairefontaine paper. It is our objective of all products we design and manufacture today to adapt to the needs of a constantly changing world. Made in France, we sell millions of our original stapled notepads every year, throughout 87 different countries.
